Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been together for almost a decade after they were introduced by a mutual friend in 2016.
Love quickly blossomed between the royal and the actress, with the pair seemingly smitten from their first date, and the duke wasn't afraid to hide his feelings for Meghan in a telling statement.Their first date took place in July 2016 at a pub in London, but Harry was late!
In their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, the duke reflected on the lead-up to their date and said: "I was panicking; I was freaking out; I was, like, sweating." Thankfully, the date went well as Meghan recalled: "He was just so fun", adding, "Just so refreshingly fun, and that was the thing, we were, like, childlike together." Around a year and a half later, Harry popped the question with a stunning engagement ring that touchingly featured diamonds from his late mother, Princess Diana's collection, and they announced the news in November 2017.
During an engagement interview, Harry revealed his true feelings for his future bride, from just moments into their first date, as he recalled thinking a very special eight words: "I really have to up my game here." In the engagement interview, he shared: "I’d never watched Suits, I’d never heard of Meghan before.
