Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.
He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.

According to People, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess confirmed that the reigning monarch’s grandson, Harry, was en route to Balmoral Castle to join the rest of the family but that Harry’s wife Meghan, won’t be joining him at this time.
No explanation for Meghan not accompanying her husband was given. Buckingham Palace issued a statement on the morning of September 8 saying: “Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision.
The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.” Also journeying to be by the Queen’s side are her heir, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall, and Prince William who is second in line for the throne.
