Prince Harry 'excluded' from King Charles' succession plans if he steps down early

King Charles, who was diagnosed with cancer last month, is believed to be planning his succession. However, if he decides to step down early, Prince Harry will be "excluded", says one Royal expert.

Tom Quinn explained that the plans mainly involve Prince William and Harry won't be informed if his father steps down early.

Instead, it is suggested he would find out at the same time as the rest of the public"Harry will also be excluded if and when plans are made for Charles to step down early - Harry will be told only when the public is told because so far as the royal family is concerned, Harry is now just a member of the public who used to be a royal," Quinn told the Mirror.Quinn previously told the publication that the Prince of Wales is "at the heart of the succession planning", but "no one trusts Harry".

This distrust reportedly stems from Harry's criticisms of the Royal Family in his first memoir, Spare.Tom continued: "Charles is also aware that, as future king, William is at the heart of the succession planning that is taking place right now officials had assumed Charles would remain healthy at least into his mid-eighties before succession planning would need to begin but in fact it has now begun and indicates perhaps that Charles' cancer is more dangerous than we have been led to believe."Succession planning is highly secret and no one trusts Harry to be part of it for the simple reason that if he feels in any way slighted or not given what he feels he deserves he will run straight to the media."
