Prince Harry reportedly felt "displaced" and left out as his brother Prince William's family grew with the births of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, according to a leading royal author.

The close bond between the Prince and Princess of Wales and the Middleton family left Prince Harry feeling like an outsider.

In her revealing book The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor, the Truth and the Turmoil, author Tina Brown quotes a former aide saying that the brothers' "relationship hadn't been the same since William married Kate".

She also mentions that their relationship became even more distant after Princess Charlotte was born in 2015. Despite living next door to each other at Kensington Palace and spending a lot of time together, Brown wrote in her book that Harry "mourned his us-against-the-world bond with William".
