If they do decide to attend the Coronation, Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle will be at best “minor figures” with little say, according to a royal expert.
It is understood there is no update from the Sussex camp as to whether they will be present for the crowning of Charles and the Queen Consort, but it has been reported that Buckingham Palace staff have been told to plan for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to attend the King’s upcoming coronation Royal historian, commentator and author, Dr Ed Owens has now said that the Palace staff will organise the Coronation in an "extraordinarily careful" manner to avoid any awkward moments.
Ed told the Express: "Harry and Meghan will have no control over how this event plays out, the Royal Household will have complete control over this event. "Everything will be organised down to the second in terms of how the event is meant to unfold, in terms of the role of the different performers." He continued to say: "If Harry and Meghan are present on the day, they are going to be minor figures at the fringe of this event." He later confirmed that this also rules out any last minute requests from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for special treatment.
A source has previously told OK! that Harry and Meghan are said to be keen to attend the coronation as it is a key milestone for the family and one they wouldn’t want their children to miss.
