Despite fans hoping Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be among the A-listers walking the red carpet at this year’s Met Gala, it's now been claimed the pair won't be in attendance.
The royal duo, who currently reside in California, could have been high up on Anna Wintour’s list of guests she wanted to invite, but their ongoing row with the royal family has reportedly stunted their chances of attending the prestigious affair.The Met Gala takes place annually on the first Monday on May, with this year’s event set to take place just days before King Charles’ coronation.
With this in mind, it's also been claimed that even if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were to be invited, they are likely to turn the invite down as the event is so close to King Charles’ big day.
Discussing the matter, Jordan James, CEO of Unlocked PR told Mirror Online: “It certainly wouldn't come as a major surprise if they were snubbed given their current status within the Royal Family and the ensuing drama." He added that the chance for Meghan and Harry to attend the star-studded affair could “boost their public perception in America".
