Prince George will not be attending the wedding of Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster, today despite his father Prince William playing a key role in the nuptials.
Hugh's wedding to his long-term partner Olivia Henson has been dubbed "the high society wedding of the year" and compared to a spectacular modern-day episode of Bridgerton.The couple will tie the knot at Chester Cathedral in front of 400 guests with the city adored with 100,000 flowers for the occasion.
Hugh, 33, is one of the country's wealthiest men who owns vast areas of London and is also Prince George's godfather, holding a close bond with Prince William.
So much so, that the Prince of Wales will be an usher for the groom during the midday wedding.The heir to the throne has known the Grosvenor family all of his life and for years was mentored by Hugh's father, Gerald, who was one of King Charles' closest friends before his death in 2016 at the age of 64.
