Prince George received a £18,000 birthday present from his doting grandfather Prince Charles. The young royal was gifted a stunning Wendy house by the Prince of Wales to celebrate his first birthday, according to the Mirror.

With such a hefty price tag, it is no surprise that the playhouse is a much more upmarket version of the typical garden toy, with features including a wood-burning stove and day bed inside.

It is kept in the garden of Prince Charles's Highgrove estate, ready for the prince, now eight, to enjoy along with his siblings, Princess Charlotte, seven, and Prince Louis, four.

The Wendy house is a hand-built ‘shepherd’s hut’, a Victorian-style 12ft x 6ft playhouse. It can be glimpsed by visitors to the 15-acre gardens of Prince Charles’ Gloucestershire estate during a guided tour. The hut was presented to Prince George for his birthday from Dorset-based company Plankbridge as a thank you for funding received from the Prince’s Trust. It can be found in a wildflower meadow in the grounds.Furniture designer Richard Lee set up Plankbridge 15 years ago.He was inspired by an ancient hut near Thomas Hardy's cottage in Dorset. The Cambridge children can also play in the treehouse which was built for the Duke of Cambridge on his seventh birthday. The wooden house on slate stilts was installed for Prince William in 1989 and has been refurbished by Prince Charles for his grandchildren to play in.
