As he has been already, Prince George will be front and centre for many major royal moments in the years to come. As he grows older and gains a firmer grasp on what his future role will involve, he is expected to follow a similar path as his father, Prince William, did.

While the second in line to the throne has been making an increasing number of public appearances alongside his parents, he has been afforded valuable privacy to grow up that previous royal generations were not.

Despite his parents best efforts to strike the perfect balance between royal duties and raising a happy family, the time where their young children would have to step further into the public eye was always going to come when King Charles succeeded to the throne.This historic moment, royal expert Jennie Bond feels, prompted a "baptism of fire" for Prince George as his parents had hoped to "gradually" introduce him to his future.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told OK!, “I think the past year has probably taught George an awful lot about his destiny. "To see the Platinum Jubilee, followed by the death, followed by all that happened after the Queen's death and then the coronation. "That is a lot for a 10 year old to absorb, so he is able to see his future in theory." Jennie continued: "Perhaps William and Catherine would like to have introduced him to the idea of what was going to happen a little more gradually because it's been almost a baptism of fire.
