Riding pillion on a motorbike driven by a masked youth a priest follows a funeral cortege from a cemetery. Video footage captured Father Frankie Mulgrew, son of comedian Jimmy Cricket, shaking holy water from an aspergillum, as the machine follows a line of cars.
The clip was filmed at St Mary's cemetery in Wardley, on Tuesday at the funeral of Saul Cookson, from Salford. He died, aged 15, after his e-bike was in collision with an ambulance on Langworthy Road on June 8th.
He was being followed by police before the crash. Father Mulgrew had earlier conducted the funeral service at at St James and All Souls RC Church, Salford Precinct, Pendleton.
The Manchester Evening News understands that during the service Father Mulgrew urged the congregation to do an act of kindness and compassion for someone by next week in memory of Saul, telling them that if they did the world would already be a better place in his memory.
