English rugby finally announces its fixtures for the Premiership resumption today after being held up by London Irish having nowhere to play.

The Exiles have left Reading after 299 games at the Madejski Stadium but the new home they are to share with Brentford FC is not yet ready.

They have been in negotiation with both Saracens and Harlequins to use one of their grounds for a campaign which still has nine of 22 league rounds to play.

A final decision is set for lunchtime when rarely seen Premiership boss Darren Childs will unveil the fixture schedule. European rugby chiefs are also in search of a suitable venue after pulling the plug on plans to stage the finals of the Champions Cup and Challenge Cup competitions in Marseille this October.
