Premier League stars will be asked to do video selfies as part of TV’s new-look Project Restart. They will be asked to fill themselves on their own phones with a pre-match message which would be broadcast as part of the live coverage when the season returns.
It is part of the “broadcast enhancement” package which has been put together by a Premier League working party to try and satisfy the likes of Sky, BT Sport, Amazon and BBC.
Premier League stars are already interviewed pre-match but those “flash interviews” are normally shown only when live games are on or for foreign rights holders.
