There are countless dates in the royal calendar which will stir up happy or emotional memories for King Charles. One of these days is Sunday, 2 June - the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's coronation in 1953.
While the late monarch's reign will be remembered for being the longest in British history, it is also a measure for the success of the Kings and Queens who will come after her.
Despite seeing an immense rise in his personal popularity, the first 17 months of the King's reign have been difficult - with him having to overcome a number of hurdles in his health and family scandals.
So will the King reflect on his late mother's life and legacy as the anniversary of her Coronation passes? Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond believes so as she exclusively told OK!: "While the date he will now focus on [in future] will be his own Coronation anniversary on 6 May, I’m sure Charles will reflect on his mother’s Coronation anniversary which he watched as a little boy of four years old." Jennie continued: "We know that he’s annoyed that his own reign has been obstructed by his prostate and cancer problems, now he has been stopped again by the general election campaign. "Personally, though, I think it will be beneficial in the long run that Charles – and indeed William – have been brought to a halt by the protocol of an election campaign." Jennie added: "As Camilla herself said, the King has been constantly in danger of trying to do too much too early in his recovery.
