Premier League clubs may soon have to show proof of four positive Coronavirus tests within their squad in order to have a fixture postponed under a stern change in approach.

The league is currently examining the prospect of making the change in order to cut the number of postponements that have ripped their way through England's top-flight in recent weeks.

According to the Mail, a change in approach, that would see Premier League clubs move away from 'available players' to 'active Covid cases,' has been discussed during discussions with the league and its 20 clubs.

It is reported that as many as 18 clubs have already backed the idea and the change could come into effect as soon as the next round of fixtures in less than a fortnight's time.
