An unnamed Premier League club have bid £50m for Barelona's Francisco Trincao, according to reports. The Portuguese star only moved to the Nou Camp in January and has a hefty €500m release clause in his contract.
But a team in England's top flight are ready to pay £50m upfront for the 20-year-old who only cost the Calatans €31m (£28m) back in January, claims AS.
Leicester are thought to be the club interest in Trincao as they look to bolster their attacking options. The Foxes missed out on the top four on the final day of the season though as they lost to Manchester United.
It means, despite all their forward steps under Brendan Rodgers, that they will not be able to offer Champions League football to any new recruits.
