The baby of a pregnant mum has died following a horrendous crash, police have now confirmed. The incident happened on Sunday, September 29, just before 8pm on Station Road close to the junction with Longbrook Avenue and Fourfields in Bamber Bridge, Lancashire.
The woman was a pedestrian who was crossing the road when she was hit by a car. At the time of the crash she was heavily pregnant. READ NEXT: The evil dad who was so jealous of his own baby he killed him in his cot Paramedics arrived quickly on the scene and rushed the woman to hospital where she went through emergency surgery to have her baby boy delivered and save his life.
Unfortunately, police have today confirmed that the youngster later died in hospital. The injured mum remains in a critical condition.
The car, believed to be a dark grey Toyota Prius, did not stop at the scene and police are still trying to trace it. A 19-year-old man from Bolton and a 17-year-old girl from Lostock Hall have now been arrested, alongside a man, 40, from Blackburn, on suspicion of assisting an offender and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
