Kate Ferdinand insisted “not all step mums are wicked” as she released a children’s book about blended families.The 32 year old, who is expecting another child with husband Rio Ferdinand in a matter of weeks, said she wanted to “change the narrative” about stepmothers with positive stories for youngsters.
The former TOWIE star is already mum to two year old son Cree with her husband - and a stepmum to Rio’s children Lorenz, 16, Tate, 14, and Tia, 12, from his marriage to Rebecca Ellison, his late wife who died of breast cancer in 2015.
Kate’s new book - called The Family Tree - is described as ‘a heartwarming story full of magic, friendship and baking that will help children of blended families feel seen, heard and appreciated’.
Promoting it with a picture on her Instagram page, she wrote: “I feel so grateful I’ve been able to create this book, I hope you enjoy the magic of this story with your little ones & it also helps start conversations that may be difficult within blended families.
