The placid cow, who was just days away from giving birth, was reportedly attacked by Labradors on Wednesday evening as she grazed on Eggardon Hill in Dorset.
Mr Farquharson, who is originally from Melrose, shared heartbreaking images of Gladys after she sadly passed away leaving him and his family distressed.
