North Lanarkshire Council’s leader has praised the impact of the area’s landmark transport projects taking place under the £1.1 billion Glasgow region city deal.Motherwell railway station has been transformed with a new concourse and access road, while a 5000-tonne railway bridge to accommodate the forthcoming Ravenscraig link road was lifted into place in April in a major feat of engineering.
Local authority leader Jim Logue says the two projects have created jobs for local residents as well as improving the area’s travel links; with economy secretary Neil Gray, the Airdrie & Shotts MSP, adding that they have boosted local businesses.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Among them are construction of the Glenboig link road to serve the community growth area and an innovation and business growth project at MediCity in North Lanarkshire.
