A popular steakhouse in the city centre plans to treat customers during the upcoming rail strikes by offering a lunch that they ‘won’t make any money on’ just to keep their restaurants busy.

Hawksmoor, located in Deansgate, will be offering its famed Hawksmoor burger alongside beef dripping fries for just £15 during lunch times on strike days.

The restaurant usually serves the dish as part of its lunch special, with other options, like a fillet or rib-eye steak coming in at £42 and £36 without chips.

Bosses at the chain, which also has restaurants in Liverpool, Edinburgh, Dublin and London, said the deal is aimed to keep their restaurants going during the normally expected quiet period.
