A Romanian pop star was killed when a train smashed into his car - with the stomach-churning moment captured on camera as he live streamed to his followers.

Tavy Pustiu, 29, was listening to loud music in his car when the locomotive ploughed into the car's passenger side - killing him and leaving his wife fighting for her life.

The video footage shows Pustiu listening to loud manele music, a type of pop-folk music popular in Romania. Bopping to the music, the clip shows him looking deeply into the camera lens as he smoked a cigarette.

In the live stream, his wife can be seen driving towards a level crossing in the city of Ploiesti, in Romania's Prahova County.
