‘Pontianaks,’ ‘Percentile’ Lead Taiwan Creative Content Fest Pitching Winners

Naman Ramachandran Comedy-horror series project “Pontianaks in Taiwan,” and education-themed “The Top Percentile” emerged as major winners at the 2024 Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF) pitching sessions, securing three awards each. “Pontianaks in Taiwan,” from the creative team of Goh Ming Siu, Karl Gan and Holly Chan, won the MyVideo Initiative Award, the Taigi TV Award and the KFA Original Award. “The Top Percentile,” from Becca Liao, Jessica Kam and Jiang Suqiu, won the Formosa TV Award, EBC Original IP Potential Award and the ZW Ingenuity Award.

In the feature film category, “Sunshower” from Hsubox Productions and Volos Films claimed two recognitions – the Taichung Action Award and QPM Award.

The project is helmed by writer-director Stefanos Tai, with Stefano Centini and Jonathan Hsu producing. “Don’t Worry About Vampire” from the team of Lin Shih-ken, Isara Chen, Liao Chen-kai and Chen Ho-yu also won two accolades – the Taipei International Film Award and the BiFan+ Award.

Animation project “Something Great” from Sumimasen Inc. and Reno Studios received recognition with the Warner Bros. Discovery Spotlight Award.
