Police swarm train station after person dies on railway line
manchestereveningnews.co.ukPolice swarmed a train station in Tameside on Thursday afternoon (September 5) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
A person, whose gender or age has not been confirmed, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident at Ashton-under-Lyne train station.
Police and paramedics were called to the incident shortly after 2.30pm to reports of a casualty on the tracks. Their death is not being treated as suspicious. An evidence tent was also erected on the railway line following the tragedy. Train services between Manchester Victoria and Stalybridge were suspended as emergency crews responded to the incident.
