Police swarm Middleton park hosting annual family event after 'assault'

Police swarmed a park in Middleton on Sunday afternoon (July 14) following reports of an 'assault'. Officers were called to Limefield Park, hosting the Middfest event, shortly after 2pm.

Pictures taken from the scene showed a number of police vehicles in attendance at the park, which was hosting the annual event promising live music, market stalls and a funfair.

It has since been confirmed that emergency services had been called to an 'assault'. Further details about the incident have not been confirmed, but a man has also been arrested.
