A Scots man has gone missing from his home in Angus - and police believe he may have travelled down south. Mark Godfrey, 36, was last seen at around 1am on Friday April 8 in the area of Threewells Drive in Forfar.

Since then, police in the Tayside region believe he has left in his car and driven to Blackpool. The missing man's family has taken to social media to share images of Mark and his car, a red Ford Focus with registration plate SV07 UXK, which they believe he has left home in.

They say they are at a loss as to why he has disappeared. Posting on social media, former partner Tara Godfrey said: "He hasn't been seen or heard from since yesterday morning he didn't show up to work and his phone is off, no one has been able to reach him and he hasn't made any contact with family or friends. "This is out of character and the police are aware."We are worried about his welfare and hope someone can recognise him."He did take his car which is in the picture.

Last seen wearing his work clothes which are just old scruffy clothes."Mark is described as around 6ft tall, slim, with short dark hair and stubble.
