Police probe JK Rowling Twitter death threat as man threatens to 'kill her with hammer'

Police Scotland have launched an investigation after JK Rowling was threatened on Twitter by a man who "wanted to kill her with a hammer" over her views on gender reforms.

The Harry Potter author took to social media to reveal an individual had published a voice note in Gaelic, threatening to kill her on January 19.

Since the tweet was published she claimed the person responsible had been identified.Ms Rowling wrote: “The charmer who’s been publicly advocating for a car to be driven into Posie Parker’s rally, who’s posted recordings of himself saying he wants to kill Rosie Duffield with a gun and me with a hammer, appears to have been identified.

Social media’s fun til it isn’t, eh, brave boy?”Officers are probing the threats made towards Ms Rowling, who lives in Edinburgh, after she argued with a Twitter user about gender reform.
