Police are treating a fire at a derelict hospital as "wilful" while emergency services work to determine the cause of the blaze.
On Wednesday at 4.26pm, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) was called to reports of a fire at Nithbank Hospital, Dumfries.
Police Scotland were alerted just over an hour later. The fire service sent seven appliances to tackle the flames, with the blaze said to be "well-developed" on the ground floor of the abandoned building.
The final crew left the scene in the early hours of Thursday morning after the fire was extinguished. A check was carried out at around 7am on Thursday to ensure the fire was still out.
