A police officer has been removed from frontline duties after he was filmed grabbing a man and holding him in an armlock before shouting "chill out or I'll choke you out".
The trouble flared on Sunday when an officer parked up their marked police van to arrest a man on suspicion of assault in Halifax, West Yorkshire.
The officer was filmed by a member of the public flinging the man on the ground as the suspect pleaded: "Look. What have I done?” The footage shows the officer grabbing the man, dressed in black cycling shorts and a black top, around the neck before the pair wrestle on the ground on a zebra crossing between some roadworks.
