Police name Ayrshire woman killed in crash as two others 'serious' in hospital

A woman who died in a crash in Ayrshire yesterday morning has been named by police.Shona McKinlay from Dreghorn was pronounced dead at the scene of the two-vehicle smash on the A70 in Ayr just before 6am yesterday morning.The 46-year-old's Renault Kangoo van was in a collision with a blue Audi TT.The 44-year-old female passenger of the van was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock for treatment following the incident, while the 23-year-old male driver of the Audi was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

Both have injuries which are serious but not life-threatening, medics have confirmed.The road was closed for around 11 hours to allow for an investigation at the scene.
