A man has been arrested after a stabbing in Salford yesterday afternoon (February 15). Police were called to Mandley Park Avenue around 5pm.

A 39-year-old man was rushed to hospital for 'life-saving treatment' after being found with stabbing injuries. He remains in hospital in a stable condition, police say.

The stabbing happened at a residential block, Oakhill Court, which is just outside the entrance for Mandley Park and opposite a nursing home.

The section of the road closest to the park entrance was sealed off by police, with forensic officers seen investigating at the scene.
