Police launch urgent search for missing girl, 17, after 'receiving intelligence'

Police searching for a missing 17-year-old girl have issued an urgent appeal for help to find her. The teenager, named only as Amy, went missing on November 21 at around 6pm.

She was last seen in the Denton area of Tameside, police said. Officers have been searching for her since but have now 'received intelligence that has increased concern for her welfare'.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is being urged to contact Greater Manchester Police immediately. She is described as being a white female, who is around 5ft tall. She has short, brown hair which is curly on the top. Chief Inspector Broadstock said: "We have been searching for Amy for some time now – visiting people with who she associates, locations where she is known to spend time, and following her movements using CCTV. "We have now received intelligence which has increased our concern for her welfare and so have made the decision to appeal to the public for help to find Amy so we can ensure she is safe and well."
