Police launch murder probe as man arrested after woman's death
manchestereveningnews.co.ukA man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after woman found unconscious at the side of a road later died. The woman is believed to have been hit by a van.
Police have now issued an urgent appeal for dash cam and CCTV footage following the incident. They were alerted at 2.08am on Sunday September 24th that a woman had been found unconscious on Padgbury Lane in Congleton, near the junction with Arnside Avenue.
Officers and ambulance attended and the woman – aged 35 and from the Congleton area – was taken to the Royal Stoke Hospital, where she sadly died.

Detective Inspector David Hutcheon said: “Whilst it took place in the early hours of the morning, I would ask anyone who was driving through the area at that time, or who lives nearby and may have seen or heard something, to get in touch.
