A boy who was arrested after a stabbing on a busy road in Longsight has been released on bail, police have confirmed. The 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after the victim - a man aged in his 20s - was stabbed in the chest on Slade Lane last Friday (May 17).
He has since been bailed pending further investigation, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester confirmed in an update today (May 21).
The victim was rushed to hospital from the scene in a critical condition after the incident at around 6.15pm. His condition is now 'stable', police said. The probe into the incident is continuing with any witnesses, or anyone with CCTV, dash cam or doorbell footage, urged to come forward.
