An investigation has been launched over a video which appears to show a police officer 'elbowing' a man in the face as he lay on the ground.
The short clip, shared to Twitter (X), shows a number of GMP officers holding a male to the ground outside Roxy Ballroom on Saturday night (April 27).
Details about the incident have not been revealed by Greater Manchester Police, but the force has said it has been referred to their Professional Standards Directorate who are investigating after the clip was posted online. GMP say they "understand how concerning" the incident appears from the short clip, and that enquires will continue to establish the full circumstances involved.
