Police hunt rider of stolen bike who mowed down pensioner in Hogmanay hit and run

Police have urged a motorbike rider who mowed down a pensioner in a hit and run to 'do the right thing and come forward'. A 69-year-old woman was walking across the road on New Year's Eve when she was struck by a grey Yamaha MT-07 motorbike that fled the scene.

The incident happened around 8pm on Sunday, December 31, on Mosspark Drive in Glasgow between the junctions with Arbroath Avenue and Tealing Avenue.

The victim sustained a number of serious injuries and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where her condition is described as serious but stable.The motorbike, which was stolen, was travelling north towards Paisley Road West when hit the woman and made off in the direction of Tealing Avenue.Now officers are appealing to the public to trace the rider.
