Photos have emerged of police guarding a home after a 17-month-old was mauled to death by a dog in her own home in Merseyside.
Yesterday (Monday), emergency services were called to Bidston Avenue in Blackbrook, St Helens, at around 3.50pm, where the toddler was quickly taken to hospital.
She tragically died from her injuries, with the police stating the family only bought the dog a week before. The dog was handed over to the police and has now been put down.
A forensic examination will take place to determine its breed and whether it was legal to own under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.
