Police found a lock knife and two machetes after officers raided a 'rowdy' party where people were seen urinating in the street and taking drugs, the Manchester Evening News understands.
Increased stop and search powers were put in place in Prestwich on Friday following the party at rental property. Officers were called to the address on Sheepfoot Lane at approximately 2:30am on Friday morning after complaints of guests blocking the road, smoking drugs, and "causing a nuisance".
It is understood that at least four searches took place, but nothing was seized and the extended search power has now ended. Anthony Connaughton lives just around the corner from the property and can see its terrace from his bedroom window. He told the M.E.N that he saw girls urinating on the street and “rowdy” revellers playing loud music and blocking the road before the police came early on Friday morning. “You’d understand a bit more if it was a weekend, but this was a Thursday night,” he said. “People are really fed up.
