Police netted a staggering drugs haul after stopping a car in Manchester. Officers found 20 bags stuffed full of cannabis inside cardboard boxes in the vehicle's boot.

A man has been arrested - and police said the suspect was also driving without a licence. The black Ford hatchback was pulled over on Princess Parkway in Manchester by an officer who 'sensed something wasn't right', Greater Manchester Police revealed as the force shared photographs of the huge seizure.

The 26-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply and remained in police custody today - Friday - for questioning, GMP added.

The vacuum-packed bags contained 'a large quantity of cannabis', said the force. A potential street value hasn't been revealed.
