Police still don't have guidance on how to enforce the 'rule of six' after Tory ministers published the law just 15 minutes before it took effect.

Since midnight it has been illegal in England to gather in groups of more than six, except for exemptions like workplaces and schools.

Similar limits are in place in the rest of the UK As coronavirus cases soar, ministers have pleaded with the British people to obey the law - and scientists warn harsher restrictions could be on the way if they don't.

And ministers are warning you could end up with a criminal record if you get a £100 fine, refuse to pay it and are taken to court.
