This is the dramatic moment a dangerous driver crashed into a safety bollard in a 'reckless' attempt to evade police. David Irwin was spotted driving a Ford Ka when Lancashire Constabulary officers signalled for him to pull over.
Instead, the 35-year-old made off and was pursued through Burnley putting the lives of himself and 'innocent passing civilians' at risk.
Footage released by the force today (April 15) shows Irwin weaving at speed along residential streets in a desperate bid to avoid capture.
However his attempted getaway came to a sudden holt when he eventually crashed the car into a safety bollard.
