Police appealing for information following serious road crash in Lanarkshire town

Police are appealing for information following a serious crash in Airdrie.Around 8.50pm on Saturday, February 10, officers received a report that a silver Nissan Qashqai hit a parked van in High Street before driving onto Aitchison Street where it collided with a red Nissan Qashqai.Emergency services attended the driver of the silver vehicle was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to what was described by medical staff as life-threatening injuries.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

The road was closed for around eight hours while investigations were carried out.Sergeant John Houston, from the Road Policing team, said: “Our enquiries are continuing and I am appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and who witnessed the crash and hasn’t already spoken to police to get in touch.“I would also ask anyone who was driving in the area at the time and who may have dash cam footage which could assist us to contact us.”Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 3427 of 10 February, 2024. *Don't miss the latest headlines from around Lanarkshire.
