A prominent Ayrshire businessman has gone missing, sparking a police appeal for his safe return.Kevin Finnie was last seen around 9pm last night (Wednesday) in the Kings Park area of Ayr.

The family of Mr Finnie, who has owned a string of bars and restaurants throughout South Ayrshire, have frantically appealed for him to contact them this morning.He is described as around 5ft 8in, of medium build, with short brown greying hair.

When last seen he was wearing a navy t-shirt, dark denim jeans and white trainers.Kevin may be driving his black Range Rover, registration F1 LLM, and he has connections in Glasgow.

Inspector Kevin Blackley said: “It is out of character for Kevin not to be in touch and we need to make sure he is safe and well.
