Police appeal after man battered with plank of wood in Johnstone

Police are appealing for information after a man was attacked by men armed with weapons in Johnstone on Friday.Around 4.10pm, a 34-year-old man was seriously injured after being attacked at an address in Graham Street by two men using a plank of wood.The men made off from the scene in a small black car and drove in the direction of MacDowall Street, Johnstone.The injured man immediately attended at The Hagg Bar, Graham Street, and sought help.He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where he was treated and has since been released.The first suspect is are described as white, approximately 6ft and of slim build.

He had a dark stubble beard, dark bags under his eyes and a scar on the right side of his face.This man was wearing all black clothing and black trainersThe second man is are described as white, approximately 6ft and of slim build.

He was bald and clean shaven. This man was wearing all white clothing and white trainers.Officers are checking CCTV footage from the area for any additional information on the suspects or the vehicle.Detective Constable James Campbell of Paisley CID, said: “While enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding this attack, we believe it to be targeted.“It was a vicious assault that happened in the middle of the day, weapons were used and the man has been badly injured.“We would appeal to anyone who may have seen the attack take place, who may have doorbell or dash-cam footage capturing the incident, or who has any information that will assist the investigation to come forward.“Information can be passed to police via 101, quoting reference number 2499 of November 18, 2022, when calling.“Alternatively, details can be given anonymously to
