Playing sweary Logan Roy on Succession a curse for Scots actor Brian Cox

Brian Cox has revealed playing Succession character Logan Roy means he can't stop swearing in real life. The actor said he has got so used to spouting foul-mouthed insults as the media mogul that he now blurts them out when not filming.

Cox told how he rarely used bad language in general conversation until he landed the role of Roy, who is famed for his "f*** off" catchphrase.

Earlier this week, Loose Women panellist Jane Moore was forced to ­apologise after Cox swore during a live interview on the ITV daytime show.The Dundee-born star was ­discussing his own similarities to Roy when he let slip a curse.He said: "The one thing we share in common is a disappointment with the human experiment."We do believe that, the current crisis we're living in, I can't believe that we're still in the same – excuse me – s*** that we've been in time and time again."Cox also swore during an appearance on This Morning last year while ­promoting his autobiography, leading host Philip Schofield to apologise.Now in an interview with The Washington Post, the 75-year-old said Roy was to blame for his frequent ­swearing.He said: "I think with Logan and I that, of course, there are ­similarities."One thing that Logan's had, one effect he's had on me is one of language."I swear a lot more now than I ever have before in my life.
