thefader.comPlayboi Carti faces two charges including felony aggravated assault stemming from a December incident where the rapper (whose legal name is Jordan Terrell Carter) allegedly choked his pregnant girlfriend, according to a TMZ report published today (February 14).
Online records reviewed by The FADER show that he is also charged with preventing a person from making an emergency telephone call.
Per the arrest affidavit obtained by TMZ, the alleged assault stemmed from a dispute over a paternity test. An argument ensued, and Carti allegedly grabbed the victim by the throat and choked her.
She says she tried to escape to her car and call the police when Carti dragged her from the vehicle and covered her mouth with his hand.
