Plans to extend a dental practice in Shotts have been given the go ahead by North Lanarkshire Council. Proposals were submitted to the council’s planning department for a change of use of a ground floor flat to provide the extension an existing dental surgery in the town’s Station Road.The practice currently occupies one unit of the traditional two-story block with a newsagent on one side and a flat on the other.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Internally, the unit will be transformed into a surgery with a bathroom and kitchen, hallway and waiting area.Given its consent to the plans the planners report states: “The proposal is acceptable in terms of design, location, size and scale.
An adequate area of amenity space would be retained.“The proposal would not result in any significant privacy issues.
