Planets align in rare planetary parade that won't be seen again for 15 years

A rare celestial event has captured the attention of stargazers in recent weeks as Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune formed a "planetary parade" in the night sky.

Four of the planets were visible with the naked eye throughout January, with Uranus and Neptune visible to the lucky few with a telescope.

The fun isn't over though, as experts say planets will remain visible throughout February, with a rare appearance from Mercury on February 28.

A planetary alignment, also known as a planetary parade, is an astronomical term used to describe when planets gather closely on one side of the Sun at the same time.
