Taylor Swift

Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Plan to transform Ayrshire beachfront toilet into cafe gathers pace

Community campaigners have taken another giant stride towards leasing a beachfront toilet block as part of plans to revitalise Ardrossan South Beach.Ardrossan Community Development Trust applied to North Ayrshire Council for a community asset transfer of the facility and an adjacent plot of land in South Beach In January and this was agreed in principle.This aims to create a striking seafront destination to encourage more visitors through securing the creation of a community hub including a café by adapting the toilet block.Accessible toilet facilities will be provided including a changing area, a modern play area for the community and visitors, beach huts for community and commercial use, bike parking, bike maintenance and bike charging facilities.

The Development Trust have already attracted Regeneration Capital Grant Fund support totalling £748,000 to finance the hub. Big Lottery funding totalling £249,584 towards the play area has also been secured.

Community Investment Funding totalling £53,100 has been agreed and North Ayrshire Council has allocated funds of £10,416 towards active travel infrastructure.North Ayrshire Council has also committed additional funding totalling £42,036 to assist in meeting a funding shortfall due to rising costs in the volatile construction sector.Cabinet member Ton Gurney welcomed the developments.He said: “This is a large and complicated asset transfer and provides some impressive opportunities for what my colleague is now calling Ardrossan Beach Park and we will have to get that into use.“I would like to thank officers who have gone above and beyond to get through all the work required on this to get to this point.
