A teenager was left just a week from death after his mystery illness, which repeatedly stumped medics who were unable to diagnose it, struck him down while studying for his exams.
Harrison Hayes, who is known as Harry, felt himself regularly becoming breathless easily throughout 2017.He had to stop for constant breaks whenever he was out walking, experiencing general fatigue and random aches all over his body.
He visited doctors, making several trips to hospital, but medics were unable to pinpoint what was causing his decline in health.Harry says he was misdiagnosed multiple times, being told he had everything from a collapsed lung to bad acid reflux.
As reported by our sister title, Manchester Evening News, he was eventually prescribed steroid tablets which seemed to help.He was able to his playing football and cricket but was overcome by his symptoms several weeks later.
