A plan to build hundreds of new homes in a Salford suburb is set to take a step forward next week. Salford City Council is planning to grant a long-term lease to developer Lovell Together LLP to build 477 family homes as part of Pendleton’s regeneration.

An agreement for the deal is due to be approved by Salford's deputy city mayor at a council meeting on Monday, December 9. Planning permission for the work was granted in October, with the development including 142 ‘affordable’ properties - priced below market rates - and four which will be wheelchair accessible. Based on land to the south of Churchill Way, the scheme has been designed to fit around a ‘renewed’ Clarendon Park with a skatepark, play area, and multi-use games site.

New tree and shrub planting will be part of the plans, as well as creating street trees and hedgerows to bring more greenery to the area.
